A good way to keep updated about the activities of Chaplaincy is to follow us on Facebook. The page primarily focuses on the year-round activities at Churchill Downs. Activities at Turfway Park and Ellis Park are also featured from time to time, during each track's racing season. Turfway Park and Ellis Park also have their own pages.

Monday Dinner

Almost every Monday, the KRTC serves dinner to backside workers before chapel service. The Chaplaincy is passionate about pursuing Acts 2:42 community (which includes delicious food from volunteers). "And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers." - Acts 2:42

Food Pantry

The Food Pantry provides non-perishable and pre-packaged nutrition in cases of urgent need, such as canned tuna, Vienna sausage, peanut butter, crackers, etc. Occasionally, cooked food is made available.

Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry works to care for women 18 years or older. By providing a safe space, the women's ministry provides biblical counseling services, Bible reading assistance, sewing classes, family visits, events, and more. The Women's Ministry desires for all women on the backside to be shaped by scripture and to become disciples making disciples.

Children and Youth Ministry

The Children's and Youth Ministries exist to reach and teach our little ones the message of Christ. Through interactive Bible studies and events, each program is rooted in God's Word and seeks to cultivate mature believers in Jesus. Children's and Youth Bible studies occur weekly during chapel services.

Clothing Closet

The Clothing Closet exists to offer the needs of men and women working on the backside. Because of insufficient funds and limited access to transportation, many workers turn to the chapel for assistance with essentials for living and work at the track--clothes, shoes, linens, blankets, towels, toiletries, and packaged food. We strive to offer the love of the Lord by serving their needs, Monday and Thursday mornings.

Donate

Your support allows us to assist with the spiritual, physical, and social needs of those working on the backside of thoroughbred race tracks and various training centers. Our Chaplains serve Churchill Downs, Ellis Park, Kentucky Downs, and Turfway Park race tracks in Kentucky, as well as Belterra Race Track in Cincinnati, Ohio. Your gift is an encouragement to the Chaplains’ outreach and this ministry.
